Please join us November 15 when\u00a0A<\/span>A<\/span>S<\/span>C<\/span>E<\/span>N<\/span>D<\/span><\/strong> screens the film Trauma Warriors<\/strong>\u00a0featuring adults with autism as they discuss the effects of trauma in childhood and their stories of survival as adults. Many people with autism experience trauma<\/strong> and are bullied<\/strong> at school or are harassed at work and in public\u00a0as adults.<\/span>\u00a0Too often this leads down the difficult path to disorders like PTSD.\u00a0Trauma Warriors is a project of the\u00a0<\/span>Autistic Global Initiative<\/a><\/strong>, an organization composed of adults on the autism spectrum. AGI head\u00a0<\/span>Val Paradiz says,\u00a0\u201dWe are determined to get this important message<\/strong> out there, not only for adults who need support in recovery from trauma, but also for children with autism and their families.\u201d\u00a0The film had its Bay Area premier at AASCEND’s recent <\/span>Innovation at Work<\/a><\/strong> conference.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Trauma Warriors screening will be followed by an open discussion of tools we use to heal<\/strong><\/span> from trauma in autism.
